Boilerplate
Chews settles the question "where are we eating?" in about two minutes. Two to four friends join a session with a six-character code and swipe through the same curated deck of twenty nearby places — like, pass or super-like — together or whenever each person gets to it. When the last swipe lands, a matching algorithm reveals one winner plus runner-ups, so there is always a decision and never a dead end.
Features
- Shared decks: one twenty-card deck per session, identical for everyone, including late joiners.
- Moods — restaurants, coffee, bars, dessert, brunch — plus an optional cuisine focus.
- Curation with a quality floor, the group’s tastes merged, and one badged "Something different" card.
- Async by design: live progress, and a host reveal when someone bails.
- Private swipes: raw verdicts are readable only by their owner; the group sees the result.
- Real venue data — photos, ratings, price, hours, reviews — with graceful fallback when a provider fails.

Restaurant data is powered by Foursquare, with Google Places enrichment for reviews and photos where available.
